Marseille's Old Port is a place I have returned to throughout my life. Growing up in this city, the sea has always been a familiar presence, and every visit to the harbor feels like coming home.
Although the view has hardly changed over the years, drawing has taught me that even the most familiar places can reveal new details. I rarely draw the places I come from, but this time I felt it was important to capture one of the landscapes that shaped me.
Using graphite pencils ranging from H to 9B, I focused on texture, light, and contrast to recreate the atmosphere of the harbor.
